Introduction to Splendour

Just 15 minutes north of beautiful Byron Bay and 40 minutes south of the Gold Coast airport you’ll find Ngarindjin / North Byron Parklands, home of Splendour in the Grass! Splendour is Australia’s premier, all ages, music, camping festival where you’ll find a treasure trove of world class musicians, VIP experiences, arts, Little Splendour (designed for the young and young at heart), destination bars plus a smorgasbord of food options and much more.

Splendour’s home of Ngarindjin / North Byron Parklands is set on 660 acres of luscious parklands featuring wide open plains, stunning forests, and a huge natural Amphitheatre. The Amphitheatre has hosted a variety of the world’s biggest performers from Kanye West to Lorde, Kendrick Lamar to Coldplay, Lizzo, Mumford & Sons and Blur to some of Australia’s biggest artists such as Tame Impala, Flume, Vance Joy, and G Flip.

Our history spans over 20+ years, making Splendour in the Grass a rite of passage for music lovers and has been the landmark event in the Australian music calendar since 2001.

Celebrating 22 years, Splendour in the Grass sits alongside Coachella, Glastonbury, and Primavera as one of the world’s most celebrated festivals. It has shaped Australia’s music landscape as the largest multi-day camping festival in the Southern Hemisphere, setting the stage for our national music and arts culture.

The ultimate Splendour experience involves road tripping with mates, staying in one of the festival’s many onsite camping options and enjoying 3 days of 100+ artists across 8 stages. With multiple tiers of event and camping tickets to choose from, the level of luxury is in your hands!

Splendour in the Grass’s commitment to its core values shine through the on-ground experience. The festival is opened with a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony presented by the Traditional Owners of Minyungbal Country, the land on which the festival is held. Splendour is accessible to all patrons, with the recent addition of AUSLAN interpreters for all Amphitheatre performances which has added an incredible element to the programming.

We are also committed to doing our bit for the environment. Splendour supports action on climate both on site, and within the local community. Our 3-bin waste and reusable cup systems have allowed us to minimise landfill as well as educating Splendour patrons to leave no trace behind and also do their bit to keep Ngarindjin / North Byron Parklands beautiful.

With over 20 editions of sonic sabbaticals, memorable moments, mosh pits and iconic live performances  – Splendour in the Grass is Australia’s biggest celebration of life, love, and most of all, music.
