D.D Dumbo was recently announced as the winner of triple j’s J Award for Australian Album of the Year for his remarkable debut Utopia Defeated.
That album - which includes killer singles ‘Satan’, ‘Walrus’ and ‘Brother’ - was featured on RRR, FBi and RTR, featured as Album of The Day on BBC 6 Music, and scored 4 and 5 star reviews from local and international press.
D.D Dumbo’s output stretches back to 2013, when he released his self-recorded debut EP Tropical Oceans. Led by the spooky strut of the title-track, the lo-fi four song-set of blues-laced, deconstructed pop, announced Perry as an exciting newcomer fluent in a language all his own. He quickly gained a reputation as a formidable live act, playing international festivals including Latitude and Pitchfork Paris and touring Australia and internationally with the likes of Tame Impala, Courtney Barnett, Beirut, St Vincent and others.
