Camel rides through the wild plains of northern India, wading through mud to pick lotus flowers and chasing exotic peacocks isn’t exactly the first thing that comes to mind when you think of an Australian electronic artist. But this is the world that informs the sounds of Willow Beats – the uncle and niece duo raised in a Hare Krishna community who continue to enthrall the world with their nature-infused sounds.
Willow Beats have commanded a heap of attention with triple J favourite ‘Merewif’, and recently unveiled new treasure ‘Dvaraka Pt. II’ - a melancholic yet vibrant single from their intricate forthcoming body of work.
The nostalgic soundtrack for the forgotten ancient city of Dvaraka has fast become a firm favourite of national radio tastemakers triple j, who’ve added it to rotation following a groundswell of support from listeners. Willow Beats premiered ‘Dvaraka Pt. II’ live at Listen Out Festival dates across the country during October, having previously delighted audiences at festivals Beyond the Valley, Strawberry Fields Festival, Lost Paradise, Wonderland Perth, and The Big Top.
