It’s been a big 18 months for Good Boy.
In December 2015, the three-piece’s debut single “Transparency” was added to high rotation on triple j and ended up 15th most-played song on the station. In January 2016, the band was announced as winners of the triple j unearthed Laneway Festival competition, opening the Brisbane Laneway main stage to a huge crowd. In March, they released their debut EP “No Love For Back Home” to a massive amount of love from critics and fans alike. All before the band was a year old.
In their second year as a band, Good Boy released their second EP, Plum. Lead single “Poverty Line” earwormed its way into Australia’s consciousness - a 3 minute 30 second exploration of what it is to be a young person living in Australia at the moment; living below the poverty line, where cost of living gets higher but wages stay the same.
Now, armed with brand new single Braap (taken from their split 7 inch with Melbourne wunderkind, Jarrow) and less than two years after forming as a band, Good Boy are taking the stage at Splendour In The Grass. How good!
